September 5 is the birth anniversary of the second president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great philosopher, teacher and scholar. To honour his life and work, and approach towards education and students, the day is observed as Teachers Day in India. India has been celebrating September 5 as Teachers Day since 1962

Every year Teachers Day is celebrated all over India on 5th September. It is because Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was born on this day. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who later became a great government dignitary, was earlier an outstanding teacher. He taught in India and later in England. He was greatly loved by his pupils for his scholarship and affable manners.

At Fertilizernagar School, Teachers Day was celebrated in the first week of September month to acknowledge hard work of teachers who mould young minds into responsible citizens. Nearly 66 students played role of teachers and conducted  classes taking help of newly created smart classroom infrastructure of school. All the students performed their roles.

Teachers can help their students attain the right path by enlightening them with the power of knowledge. The contribution, efforts and dedication of a teacher is respected through the celebrations of Teacher’s Day and to show them gratitude and thankfulness for the efforts they make in educating their students. Knowledge is the light to remove the darkness of ignorance from one’s life. On this special occasion, students prayed with respect to teachers who taught them not just math and science, but how to never back down and become better human beings holding their heads high.
